North Dakota Rural Water Systems Association - Disaster Recovery Circuit Rider

This is a full-time, non-exempt position (40 hours per week) with a competitive salary and flexible schedule that will support water and wastewater systems impacted by Presidentially declared disasters in CY2022. Applicant should have multi-years (at least 5 years preferred) experience or educational background related to improving the technical, managerial, and financial capacity of water and wastewater systems. Position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience operating, maintaining, or managing a water and/or wastewater system; the ability to communicate effectively with operators, decision makers, and regulatory agencies; and the ability to provide sustainable solutions to system personnel and decision makers is preferrable.

This position requires travel in North Dakota to provide onsite disaster assistance, recovery, and training to the state’s water and wastewater systems. Onsite assistance and training priorities will include:

  • Performing post-disaster assessments and disaster mitigation;
  • Preparing projects and USDA Rural Development RD Apply applications for funding;
  • Identifying and evaluating long-term solutions, inclusive of Risk and Resilience Assessments, Emergency Response Plans, and other planning documentation;
  • Providing training and other resources to operators and management;
  • Other technical, managerial, and financial assistance efforts that support the resiliency and capacity of eligible systems.

Compensation will depend on experience. Benefits include company vehicle for work purposes, dental, health, health savings account, holidays, life insurance, long term disability, sick leave, vacation, and vision. This position is a two-year commitment, starting in February 2024 and ending in January 2026.

The individual in this position will coordinate administration of city government in accordance with North Dakota Century Codes, Chapter 40-16, and City Ordinances of the City of Belfield, North Dakota, and policies determined by the Belfield City Council by performing duties personally or through subordinates. One full-time position is available in the Public Utilities Department for an Operator I, Grade 7/8. Salary ranges from $43.764 to $59.976 per year depending on experience. City of Garrison, ND - Water Plant/Distribution Operator/City Maintenance

The City of Garrison is seeking a qualified applicant for a Water Plant/Distribution Operator/City Maintenance position. The applicant would be required to operate and maintain a Class 3 Surface Water Treatment System and pump station facilities along with adequate qualifications to perform city maintenance.

The job position requires a minimum of one year accredited technical training in the operation of water plant treatment or an equivalent combination of education and experience with water plant treatment processes. Perform and assist with all water plant, water distribution, wastewater, city streets, city grounds, and city landfill maintenance to include the proper operation and maintenance of all heavy equipment.

The position is full time with a starting salary of $18.00 to $32.00 per hour depending on experience with excellent benefits.
